Thirteen spur of the moment things I’m grateful for while compiling this list:
1. A coworker gave me the pen used to write this list. He gifted it for my birthday with a card saying I’m a special friend and not to give up writing.
2. I am enjoying one of my favorite types of afternoons – jacket weather with just a touch of chill to keep me awake and aware. More such weather is predicted for the rest of the week.
3. Woodpeckers entertained me as I sat in the park.
4. Mud on the bottom of my shoes makes me anticipate spring.
5. I don’t have to worry about criminals lurking in the suburban park where I spend most lunches.
6. My sweat jacket has a hood to keep me warm and cozy. Also, no winter coat needed!
7. I remembered to bring my bottled water.
8. There is currently no construction traffic that plagued the park last summer.
9. I don’t have to pick up all the yard debris lying about the park from recent winter storms.
10. The cawing of the crows made me think of an isolated writing retreat I took last spring.
11. I almost finished writing the list and my lunch hour was only half over.
12. The wind knocked over my water bottle but none spilled because the lid was tight.
13. It’s a beautiful day for a drive and I have plenty of gas. Perhaps I’ll take a detour on the way home.

I sense Spring is in the air. Or is it wishful thinking on my part?
ReplyDeleteHappy T13~
So many things to be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice when we can sit down and count out things to be grateful for? It's something we all need to do from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHappy TT!
What a way to catch some peace and count your blessings! Great TT!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words! I received another blessing on my way home - I saw turkey buzzards! That's a sure sign of spring.
ReplyDeleteI admit, I'm a little jealous you can sit outside this time of year without turning into an icicle. Spring can't come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteYay for approaching Spring!! And I think counting the small blessings is one of the healthiest things we can do everyday :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a fabulous lunch. I hope the rest of the day goes great.
ReplyDeleteThe park sounds like a lovely and relaxing haven.
ReplyDeleteAlas, it is only February. Will spring hurry up already? :)
ReplyDeleteYou and those buzzards, lol. Monday was my 2nd PDS anniverary, and I barely noticed. Wow, it seems like so long ago!
ReplyDeleteThis list is a great reminder that our grateful things don't need a special occasion. Thanks, Darla!
What an awesome list! I love the bits about Spring and the park, and that your water tipped over but didn't spill. It's the little graces, like that, that really make my day - when I remember to count them. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list. So many times we don't take the time to count our blessings, but remember the bad instead. Life is good. We should be glad to be here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, dears. Happy PDS Anniversary, Nikki! And Catherine, you have to know your email the other day inspired this. :)
